Thank you for stopping by my blog.
My name is Mandie Pitre, and I am a young adult who loves to read and write, especially about God and living for Christ.I have been writing ever since I can remember. My earliest writing was a short story called The Tiger - original, I know. Needless to say, as young kid I was proud of my story and shared it with everyone who would listen - and one of my friends still laughs at me for it to this day.
Though I had dabbled into it throughout my elementary grades, it wasn't until junior high that I began to seriously journal. While at first my entries were simply on the basic happenings of my day, I soon began to pour out my heart into my writing. I wrote out my personal thoughts, my reflections on life, and my deepest dreams. Writing is my way of processing life and truth and emotions - a way to better understand myself and stay focused on what I know is true.
My love for writing has tied into my love for reading. The past few years especially I have focused in more on reading Christian nonfiction - a practice that has had massive impacts in my life. Whether it was reading books like Radical (David Platt), What is the Gospel? (Greg Gilbert), Taking God at His Word (Kevin DeYoung), or This Changes Everything (Jaquelle Crowe); or subscribing to blogs and email updates such as The Rebelution, Jaquelle Crowe, The Gospel Coalition, Desiring God, or Challies.com; these resources and many others have been irreplaceable, shaping and sometimes changing my views and perspectives so that I might have a more Biblically-grounded understanding of my faith.
This is why I write. God has used reading and writing in my life to draw me closer to Him - I simply wish to see if maybe He would use me and my desire to write about Him for His glory.
My prayer is that this humble little blog might be a source of encouragement to even one soul.
For His Glory,
Mandie Pitre
Soli Deo Gloria!
